I am an abstract oil and cold wax painter. . Each layer of every painting is an exploration into the unknown––most of the time, when I begin a painting, I never know where it will end up. Much of the inspiration for my paintings comes from music and/or poetry.

My process is to begin making marks, maybe with charcoal, ink or perhaps acrylic paint. I might add collage pieces and sand them back before moving to the oil and cold wax. It’s a process which requires time and patience, but I feel the results are incredibly rewarding.

The paintings typically have between 15 and 20 layers of paint and wax, and they take anywhere from a few days to weeks to complete. I want my work to be compelling and interesting to the viewer and I would like the viewer to resonate with, and feel, the essence of the song or poem inspiring the piece.
