This immersive workshop is about empowering our Inner Warrior. We begin with a guided imagery meditation intended to bring our consciousness to a calm and centered place as we prepare to greet and welcome our inner She-roe or Hero. We will create masks of one another’s faces using plaster gauze wrap; when they have dried, we will decorate and embellish them with ephemera we have collected and brought to the workshop. Examples are pieces of fabric, fur, twigs, crystals, thread, twine, feathers . . . anything that reminds us of our inner strength. We will finish the two-day workshop with a group sharing.

Please note the following:

• Lunch will be provided;

• Please do not wear contact lenses;

• We will use cream and Vaseline on the face to protect skin from the plaster. Wear makeup at your discretion.

• If you have a food allergy, please contact Charlynn Throckmorton or Studio 55.

• The masks you make should be personal, powerful, and intimate. Bring embellishments that are meaningful to you.

We ask that, since we will be working closely with one another’s faces and around the eyes and mouths, everyone be fully vaccinated against the flu and and against Covid. We will provide gloves and cloth masks for working on the face.
